Top 10 places to eat off campus

Kayla Camacho, Staff Writer

10) Longwood Grille and Bar

Does anyone ever actually go there?  I’m pretty sure it only exists to make us mortals feel bad as we sit in the food court eating cheap fake ethnic food and avoiding good life decisions

9) Boloco

I know, I just said I love this kind of food, so why are both these places so low on the list?? If it were a little closer, it would be number one, but the distance that needs to be traversed to get to this wonderful burrito heaven is just a bitter reminder to me of how shamefully lazy I am.

8) CVS

I had to include this because it has been the source of 100% of my advisory’s food for the last 4 years.  I may be personally funding the entire stock of potato chips at that establishment.

7) McDonald’s

A classic.  I have nothing to say about McDonald’s that hasn’t already been said.  While their food does tend to make me feel somewhat sick, I can’t say I haven’t enjoyed a sickeningly salty serving of McDonald’s fries after a particularly stressful day.

6) Starbucks

I definitely differ from popular opinion on this, but as someone who hates coffee, Starbucks doesn’t have a lot to offer me.  Their hot chocolate is pretty good, but we can get that for free at school, albeit across a somewhat disgusting river of chocolate water.

5) Subway

The efficiency of sandwiches will never fail to entertain me.  Plus, this is probably the only place in the Galleria where I can eat a meal and not feel a little bit sick afterwards.  That probably has more to do with a certain lack of self control on my part, but I digress.

4) Sakura Japan

What I like about this place is that you can see that they’re actually cooking the food they’re giving you and not just magically bringing it out of the void, and they give you a ridiculous amount of rice.  I’ve never been able to actually eat more than half the rice they give.  They should replace that rice with more chicken (basically the same thing, right?).

3) Dragon Bowl

To be honest, I go here more often than all of the other places in this list combined, except maybe Bruegger’s.  It has become my ultimate comfort food.  I cannot in good conscience say anything bad about it.

2) Dunkin Donuts

I mean, if you don’t know why Dunkin is so high on this list, I don’t even know what you’re doing.  Also, I really appreciate that their idea of romance is heart-shaped donuts.  They just get me.

1) Bruegger’s

Going back to my roots of pure, unadulterated laziness, this is first on the list because it is so close to Winsor.  Magically close.  I don’t know that I would have made it this far if I hadn’t warm bagels and a dozen different kinds of cream cheese just a stone’s throw away.
